Details

· Artfully crafted, delicate bristles · Suitable for preparing usucha and koicha · Carved from wood. Handcrafted in the Japanese style · Comes in sturdy packaging · Approx. 10.5 cm A chasen is indispensable for the traditional preparation of matcha tea. Thanks to its delicate bristles, the tea can be whisked into a finer and better foam than with any other utensil. To prepare the tea, mix 1–2 grams of matcha powder with a sip of water to form a fine paste. Then, 50–70 ml of water is added to the paste, and the whisk is moved through the liquid with quick W-shaped motions. After a short time, a firm and fine foam forms on top of the tea.

Produktion & Verwendung

The whisk is hand-carved from wood. The crafting of these delicate tools is a rare Asian art form that requires a great deal of experience and time. The chasen is an indispensable Japanese accessory for the tea ceremony, and its color complements the vibrant green of matcha exceptionally well. The chasen features very finely crafted bristles and is particularly well-suited for preparing both usucha (thin tea) and koicha (thick tea).

Pflegehinweise

Delicate Premium Matcha Whisk

Behind every frothy cup of matcha is a good whisk. Tip: Rinse the bristles with water before use. This makes the wood more supple and extends its lifespan.
