Organic Matcha Yottsu Mini Set - Details

Yottsu Starter Set with Organic Matcha, Whisk, and Spoon.
Our Yottsu is a particularly fresh matcha characterized by its refined, slightly bitter flavor and full body. It is deep green and has a subtle citrus note. This tea’s flavor holds up particularly well against milk, making it ideal for matcha lattes. The included bamboo spoon makes measuring out the right amount a breeze, and the bamboo whisk lets you froth your tea to a wonderfully creamy consistency. Instructions included.

Origin & More Details

Find out exactly what matcha is here.

Our organic Yottsu matcha comes from the premier Kirishima region in Kagoshima Prefecture. Kirishima, along with Nishio and Uji, is known for producing the best organic matcha tea in Japan. Thanks to its location in the south of the country, not only is the climate ideal for growing tencha, but the soil also offers excellent conditions. The mountainous region is an active volcanic landscape characterized by soil that is particularly rich in minerals and highly fertile. Thanks to these perfect conditions, the region has established itself as Japan’s second-largest producer of green tea. The raw tea comes exclusively from the first harvest and is hand-picked and sorted. After steaming and gentle drying, the tencha is ground very finely on granite stone mills. This gives the tea its fine, velvety texture and allows it to be whisked into a frothy foam quickly. Thanks to its fruity and lively character, our Matcha Yottsu is particularly well-suited for making matcha lattes.

Shelf Life

The matcha is delivered in an airtight, heat-sealed package.

Matcha can be stored for up to two years without any problems. We’ve provided more information on this here.

Thanks to an additional rubber seal on the lid, the tea stays fresh for a long time even after opening. Because it’s ground so finely, the powder is highly susceptible to external factors such as light, oxygen, and heat. The tea should therefore always be stored in a tightly sealed container in a place away from direct sunlight.
