History & Region

What exactly is matcha? you can find out here.

Smooth and round organic matcha from the famous Nishio tea region in Aichi.

Together with Kagoshima, Aishi Prefecture is known for the best organic matcha teas in Japan. Thanks to its ideal climate and soil conditions, the region is perfect for growing green tea and especially Tencha. More than 25% of Japan's entire matcha production comes from this region. Thanks to a special composition of nutrient-rich, organic fertilizers, the tea develops a particularly deep green and very delicate, unique aromas. You can find more information about the individual growing regions and their special features here.

For the cultivation of our organic Matcha Futatsu, the plants are fully shaded (>90%) for at least four weeks. Due to the almost complete deprivation of light, the Tencha develops a uniquely gentle character with subtle hints of fruit and nuts.

The leaves from the first harvest are picked by hand, gently dried and then traditionally ground on granite stone mills. Due to the extremely fine texture of the powder, the matcha can be stirred quickly and easily, forming a firm and dense crema. Due to its gentle and restrained character, our Futatsu is suitable for both Usucha (thin liquid) and Koicha (thick liquid tea). The powder is particularly rich in antioxidants, vitamins and high-quality proteins. The matcha is sourced directly from the farmer in Japan. In addition to the requirements of the organic control body, each batch is tested for radioactive contamination by a German laboratory.

Shelf life & storage

The green tea is sealed airtight delivered.

The tea can easily be stored up to two years stored for up to two years. We have more on this described for you here.

Only for matcha: Due to the extremely fine grinding, the powder is highly susceptible to external influences such as light, oxygen and heat. The tea should therefore always be stored tightly closed in a place away from direct sunlight.

Not too much promised

The slightly longer wait was worth it!
I was delighted with the cardboard box as soon as I unpacked it.
The first preparation went really well thanks to the instructions.
The futatsu is very mild, foams up well and tastes like more.
A sustainable and socially responsible company that I will be happy to recommend.

Really good

Since Noritual lab was sold out, I tried it for the first time and what can I say. The price-performance ratio is really very good for an organic matcha. The only thing I don't like is the cap, as the matcha powder sometimes rises when you open it (even more if there is a small dent). But that doesn't change the top quality.
