Hitotsu is characterized by its creamy body, complex aromas, and subtle sweetness. Thanks to its mellow and well-rounded character, it’s also well-suited for preparing koicha (thick tea).

The Satoyama bowl, with its tall shape, is ideal for traditional preparation. Its color scheme is inspired by the gentle landscape of Satoyama, where people and nature live in harmony. The chawan and the intricately crafted accessories are perfect for the tea ceremony.

A set specially curated for the traditional tea ceremony. It includes our premium organic Hitotsu matcha, a beautiful chawan (matcha bowl), and accessories made of dark bamboo.

The tea

Our high-end organic matcha, rich in umami and complex aromas. It is characterized by particularly sweet and buttery notes and a multifaceted character. The mouthfeel is buttery and creamy, and the finish is long-lasting and very smooth. One of Japan’s finest organic matcha teas. It is grown in Kirishima, comes exclusively from the first harvest, and is hand-picked. The raw tea is gently ground on granite stone mills and immediately sealed in airtight packaging.

The Bowl

Vibrant chawan with exciting colors and shapes. The blend of different shades creates a unique dynamic. Each bowl is one-of-a-kind. Its tall shape makes it ideal for the traditional tea ceremony. Its bold color scheme pairs perfectly with dark bamboo accessories.

The Bamboo Accessories

The matcha and the chawan come with dark bamboo accessories. These complement the brown tones of the bowl perfectly and are essential for the traditional preparation of matcha tea. The 100 delicate bristles of the whisk make it easy to whip the tea into a frothy foam. The long, narrow spoon is used to scoop and measure the powder from the small canister. Both pieces are handcrafted in the traditional Japanese style. The accessories are suitable for preparing both koicha (thick tea) and usucha (thin tea).

Shelf Life

The matcha is delivered in an airtight, heat-sealed package.

Matcha can be stored for up to two years without any problems. We’ve provided more information on this here.

Thanks to an additional rubber seal on the lid (especially sturdy on the storage bags), the tea stays fresh for a long time even after opening. Because it’s ground so finely, the powder is highly susceptible to external factors such as light, oxygen, and heat. The tea should therefore always be stored in a tightly sealed container in a place away from direct sunlight.
