A set specially curated for the traditional tea ceremony. It includes our premium organic Futatsu matcha, a beautiful Japanese chawan (matcha bowl), and accessories made of dark bamboo. Also makes an ideal gift.

The tea

A gentle and sweet blend from Nishio in Aichi. The aromas are dominated by nutty notes and subtle floral hints. The finish reveals a refined spiciness that perfectly rounds out the overall impression. Thanks to a special fertilizer and a long period of shade, the tea is an intense green and has a creamy body. The matcha comes exclusively from the first harvest and was hand-picked. After gentle drying, the raw tea is ground on traditional granite stone mills and then sealed airtight. An exceptional organic matcha for special moments.

The Bowl

The Tenzai chawan (matcha bowl) is a particularly gentle-looking bowl. With its organic shape—free of sharp edges—and a creamy white glaze dotted with tiny specks, it blends discreetly into any kitchen style. The smooth, almost soft-to-the-touch surface and surprisingly heavy weight make preparing matcha particularly easy and enjoyable. Each piece is one-of-a-kind.

The Bamboo Accessories

The set is complemented by a chasen (whisk) and a chashaku (scoop) made of dark bamboo. This material is particularly elegant thanks to its unique patterns. The varied coloring of the wood complements the dynamic design of the matcha bowl very well. The chasen’s 100 delicate bristles make it easy to whisk the tea into a frothy foam. The spoon is used to scoop out and measure the powder. Both pieces are handcrafted from a single piece of bamboo in the traditional Japanese style.

Shelf Life

The matcha is delivered in an airtight, heat-sealed package.

Matcha can be stored for up to two years without any problems. We’ve provided more information on this here.

Thanks to an additional rubber seal on the lid (especially sturdy on the storage bags), the tea stays fresh for a long time even after opening. Because it’s ground so finely, the powder is highly susceptible to external factors such as light, oxygen, and heat. The tea should therefore always be stored in a tightly sealed container in a place away from direct sunlight.
