Herkunft & mehr Details

Was Matcha eigentlich überhaupt genau ist, erfährst du hier.

Finest organic matcha from the top region of Nishio in Aichi. Alongside Kagoshima, Aichi Prefecture is a leader in the production of outstanding organic matcha teas. Thanks to an ideal climate and the best soil conditions, the region is perfect for growing Tencha. More than a quarter of Japan's entire matcha production comes from this area. By using a special organic fertilizer, the tea farmer can guarantee the consistently high quality of the products.

For the cultivation of our organic Matcha Mittsu, the plants are fully shaded (>90%) for at least three weeks. The tencha only develops its unique character and its fruity and nutty aromas when it is deprived of light.
After harvesting, the tea is gently dried and then traditionally ground on granite stone mills. This makes the powder extremely fine and the tea can be whisked quickly and easily. Due to its lively and fresh nature, matcha is best suited to the preparation of usucha (liquid tea).

Haltbarkeit
