This green matcha topping is your ticket to the cupcake heaven. You can use any type of muffin you like as a base. We opted for chocolate muffins and the result was heavenly! 🧁😍
You can use this recipe as a base for your own creativity because there are no limits here! The matcha makes the buttercream fantastically green and gives it the familiar fresh and tangy taste of green tea. At the same time, you save on food coloring or other additives and make your muffins a eye-catcher.
Sounds great? It is!
Ingredients
- 450g butter at room temperature
- 500g powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons Matcha Basic Line
- 1 teaspoon vanilla paste/essence
- 1 pinch of salt
⠀
Preparation
Mix all ingredients with a mixer creamy and then add the (sieved) matcha. If you don't have a blender, you can also use a whisk, which will ensure that you have burned off all the calories for the next muffin.💪
Then take a piping bag with wavy and pipe the mixture onto the muffins. The motto here is: whatever you like is allowed! As you can see above, we have opted for the classic hood shape, but with the matching nozzle you can turn your cupcakes into little works of art in no time at all and conjure up roses on the muffins, for example.
Finally, we have used matcha as decoration over the finished cupcakes, but again, you can play around as you like.

Have fun baking and enjoy! 🙃
