This very delicate chasen makes it easy to whisk matcha tea until frothy. Thanks to its very low weight, the whisk sits comfortably in the hand when whisking and can be moved quickly from the wrist. With the very fine bristles, the powder can be stirred better than with any other tool. To do this, place 1-2 grams of matcha in a bowl and mix with a sip of water to form a homogeneous paste. Then add 70-100 ml of water and stir with quick w-shaped movements to form a frothy tea.

Bamboo whisks have been painstakingly handcrafted in Japan for centuries. The techniques and tools used have hardly changed. This model is made by hand from a single piece of dark bamboo. Together with an original Japanese chawan (matcha bowl) and a chashaku (bamboo spoon), it is perfect for the traditional tea ceremony.

Before use, the broom should be placed in a lukewarm water bath. Only the first 3-4 centimeters of the bristles should be in the water for a few minutes. This makes the material softer and more flexible and prevents the bristles from breaking. The Chasen should never come into contact with washing-up liquid or other chemical cleaners. After use, please rinse with water only and place on a broom holder to dry. The holder keeps the shape of the Chasen for longer. Alternatively, the bamboo broom can also be placed on a cloth to dry.
