Our set to get you started in the world of the best matcha teas. The matcha set includes our organic blend Mittsu, an original Japanese chawan (matcha bowl) and accessories made of golden bamboo. Ideal for the traditional tea ceremony.

The tea

Our premium entry-level matcha, which is characterized by a fruity, exciting and refreshing character. The aromas are defined by intense fruit and fine nutty notes and the taste is rounded off by a subtle bitterness. Matcha is also ideal for cold preparation and as usucha (liquid tea). The tea is fully shaded for at least three weeks, harvested by hand and gently ground on granite stone mills. Matcha tea contains concentrated ingredients such as antioxidants, vitamins, minerals and proteins.

The bowl

A chawan made by hand in Japan. The bowl is made of Mino stoneware and coated with a special food-safe glaze. This coating has very fine hairline cracks on the surface which, together with slight unevenness, create a lively appearance. The white blends with delicate shades of green and gray, perfectly matching the bright green of the matcha. The bowl comes from Gifu Prefecture. This region has made a name for itself beyond the country's borders for its handmade tea ceramics.

The bamboo accessories

The set is rounded off with accessories made of golden bamboo. This material is classic for the traditional tea ceremony and goes extremely well with the light-colored bowl. Thanks to the 100 very fine bristles of the chasen, the tea can be stirred and frothed quickly and easily. The broom was elaborately crafted by hand from a single piece of wood. The long and slightly curved spoon makes it easy to remove the matcha powder from the small tin and measure it out.

Thanks to an additional rubber coating on the lid (particularly stable upper on the storage bags), the tea stays fresh for a long time even after opening. Due to the extremely fine grinding, the powder is highly susceptible to external influences such as light, oxygen and heat. The tea should therefore always be stored tightly closed in a place away from direct sunlight.
